Supporting Schools with Absence due to Illness

Earlier on in the academic year Professor Sir Chris Whitty (Chief Medical Officer) and colleagues produced a really useful letter for schools outlining their perspective from both a clinical and public health perspective on mild illnesses and how these should be tackled. The letter includes links to excellent NHS guidance (Is my child to ill for school?) which can be useful to share with parents when they are concerned about whether or not to send their child into school.

A copy of the letter sent to all schools can be found here Letter to school leaders on mild illness and school attendance – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
